Before coming to the workshop, please undertake the following steps:

Install Oxygen XML editor (http://oxygenxml.com/download) on your laptop, and request a 30-day demo license. (If you want to keep using Oxygen after the workshop, an academic license will be $99.)
Make sure that you have a Google account or other OpenID provider account (like Yahoo or Facebook) so you can log in to the Papyri.info Papyrological Editor http://papyri.info/editor/user/signin
Optional: For the visualization of EpiDoc files, you may wish to download and install EFES (https://github.com/EpiDoc/EFES/wiki/Installation). EFES will only work with Java 7 or 8u211 (links for checking the version on your computer and downloading Java). Gabriel Bodard will introduce and demonstrate EFES during the workshop. Installing it in advance will allow you to follow along with the demonstration on your own laptop.
Optional: join the Markup list (http://lsv.uky.edu/archives/markup.html) if you like – this is a very low-traffic list for discussion of EpiDoc related issues.
